Happy Juneteenth! They made it a federal holiday and then immediately started banning the teaching of why it matters.
Thought-terminating cliché:
“Do the work”
- They gave us a day off and took away voting rights, affirmative action, and DEI in the same year
- You can't celebrate Black freedom on Thursday and ban Black history on Monday
- Juneteenth is hollow when the 13th amendment still has an exception for prison labor
- Representation matters but representation without power is just decoration
